General Manager – HVAC Manufacturing | Plant Operations | Business Leadership
 

Our client, an established HVAC component manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the organisation through its next phase of business growth, operational excellence, and innovation.

This leadership role will oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, supply chain management, financial performance, and strategic business planning, while driving operational efficiency and strengthening market competitiveness.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned manufacturing leader with strong P&L management experience, capable of leading cross-functional teams and delivering sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Leadership

• Develop and execute corporate and operational strategies to drive business growth, profitability, and market expansion.

• Lead long-term business planning, operational strategy, and organisational development.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost optimisation.

Manufacturing & Operations Management

• Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, including production planning, plant operations, quality management, engineering support, and supply chain activities.

• Ensure efficient production output, operational efficiency, and product quality standards.

• Implement lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.

Financial & P&L Management

• Take full accountability for company financial performance, P&L management, budgeting, and cost control.

• Drive revenue growth, pricing strategies, operational cost optimisation, and profitability improvements.

• Monitor financial performance metrics and provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team across operations, supply chain, finance, and engineering functions.

• Foster a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Customer & Market Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders.

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, service excellence, and product reliability.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Drive innovation, product development initiatives, and process optimisation to maintain competitive advantage.

• Encourage cross-functional collaboration to support new product introduction and operational innovation.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.

• Strengthen corporate governance, operational risk management, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in roles such as General Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Director, or Manufacturing Director.

• Strong background in manufacturing operations, supply chain management, production planning, and quality systems.

• Experience managing P&L, budgeting, cost control, and financial performance.

• HVAC manufacturing industry experience (components, coils, condensers, refrigeration equipment, or related sectors) will be highly advantageous.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and large manufacturing operations.

• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and decision-making capability.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
